About Duplicate-Detection Risk Analyzer

The Risk Analyzer compares an original file with a modified version and reports how close they still are under the same algorithms platforms use to spot duplicates: perceptual hashing (PDQ for images, vPDQ for video), structural similarity (SSIM) and audio fingerprinting (Chromaprint).

Frequently asked questions

What is perceptual hashing (PDQ and vPDQ)?

PDQ and vPDQ are perceptual hashes used to detect near-duplicate images and video. They produce a fingerprint that stays close for visually similar files, so the distance between two fingerprints estimates how alike they look.

What does the similarity score mean?

It estimates how likely two files are to be treated as the same content. Higher means more similar; lower means more distinct.

Does it check audio as well?

Yes. It uses Chromaprint audio fingerprinting to measure how closely the soundtracks match.

Is the Risk Analyzer free?

Yes. The analyzer is free to use and requires no account.
